How to choose the perfect summer dress?

Finding a summer dress is not a challenging job. You can pick up a fit and flare for a summer soireé or a chiffon maxi for a stroll on the beach. But, the biggest roadblock to picking summer dress is the one that speaks your style without you speaking for it. When in doubt, we always go for maxis and why wouldn’t we!! It’s easy as hell, saves time, saves money (may be some more than the others). Although, with each fashion week, different designers bring their own renditions of summer. Surfing the internet, I stumbled upon Proenza Schouler’s take on ruffles in Paris Fashion week, this year; whereas Rodarte is themed more of romantic with embroidered patterns and lace. But, for us street-stylers, what is the perfect way to showcase our nuance of summer!!

I say, fabric is the most important part of summer. If you cannot breathe in the fabric, there is no way you can have fun with the dress. Cotton and linen are summer staples, but chiffon and satin are equally seductive for summer parties. Laces are pretty, but not meant for extremely hot days. Although, there is nothing bad about putting on a show in  gorgeous cornflower blue guipure lace dress if your heart belongs to it. Next, in command are the  little details of your dress. For instance, the little ruffles on the black LBD in the photo are great addition to an otherwise minimalistic outfit. Right accessories can transform your dress. The way you style it with a bag or a kitten heel or sneakers can entirely change the tone of an outfit. Last, but not the least, have fun with your outfit. If you are not happy in it, it always shows up. Nothing makes the dress more beautiful than the vibe that you give it. Expensive accessories may not always add that factor, but a positive energy always will.
